Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, Judy Greer, Dean Norris and J.K Simmons all staring in a movie together? AND with writer, director Jason Reitman (Labour Day) at the helm? ... That must guarantee it is worth watching, right?

Men, Women and Children is a unique, mainly in the sense that there have been many similar stories before it - however none styled like this. Under the narration of Emma Thompson, the film is an intercourse of different characters, all with many personal issues; teen pregnancy, online-safety, pornography and affairs to name a few. Unleashed in different narratives, all of the characters mutually know each other. Either parents of school children, or the school-children themselves who are played by the younger co-starring cast of; Kaitlyn Dever, Ansel Elgort and Olivia Crocicchia (all brilliant!).

Contrasting the 50% adult cast, and 50% teen cast. The film has a technology as the focus point and how it changes their individual lives, often for the worse. Visually on screen there are; search bars, texts and pop-up adverts left, right and centre, as well as much ‘meme humour’ and txt speak. So be sure to read up on your urban dictionary beforehand. LOLZ.

At points it does go over-the-top and uses the most extreme examples to feel dramatic. But it progressively gets better and on the right track. Notably, Men, Women and Children manages to flip perspectives on actor’s and actually appreciate an Adam Sandler role and detest a Jennifer Garner one with respects to their characters. Cataloguing many of life’s melodramas, you realise how good it actually is as it comes full circle and illustrates exactly how our life is within this moment.
